Birth of October

Been a journey like no other
Nine months inside 2011…
..Akin human, October is born to us
Along the way, the ICC,
Where the ‘guilty as seen’ were taken
Awaiting judgement by the people

Fire though cramped Nairobi
Various explosions, reasons unknown,
Sinai RIP… as we remember the departed
Maybe through negligence…
Or as written in the Bible, ‘Lack of knowledge’

Kawethei too morns the crème of the village
Away to add another but ending tragically
Families cry as the solemn mood fill the homesteads
Waiting,
Hoping for a better tomorrow

Wangari, Nyeri morns with the rest of the world
A protector of trees, the mother of life by water
Cancer her slayer…yet too soon
With many accolades we celebrate her..

Now October is here, yet no better
Apple morns too, Steve Jobs now departed
But we still live on, nine months after,
…The birth of October.
